Meet Ella
Ella McNamara, Founder
Ella McNamara, based in Australia, is dedicated to assisting international Intended Parents to understand their global surrogacy and egg donation options.
Through the wonder of IVF, Ella is the mother of 2 boys.
Despite her IVF success, the hopelessness and helplessness she experienced in receiving her infertility diagnosis never left her, so she entered the fertility industry to help find solutions for people sharing the same feelings.
Ella spent two years working for a Not-for-Profit organization producing international events for Intended Parents looking to understand their surrogacy options. She then worked for a US Fertility Clinic for five years, helping international patients connect with the clinic and agencies to fulfill their parenting dreams.
Since 2020, Ella has worked as a consultant as the Director of Fertility & Family, assisting international Intended Parents build their families and navigating the additional challenges COVID created for International IPs.
Meet Andy
Andy Leonard, International Surrogacy Consultant
Andy Leonard, based in Sydney, brings both personal and professional experience to his work supporting Intended Parents. He became a father through surrogacy in Canada in 2017 and undertook his second journey as a solo dad in Argentina, welcoming his daughter in 2023. Andy now lives in Sydney with his partner and their two children.
Andy’s path to parenthood involved many years of setbacks with failed journeys in Australia and Thailand, difficult decisions and, ultimately, two successful international surrogacy journeys. His experiences gave him a deep understanding of the emotional, practical, financial and logistical challenges Intended Parents can face, as well as the importance of ethical practices, honest guidance and strong relationships with surrogates.
After completing his own journeys, Andy began working for an international surrogacy agency, supporting Intended Parents pursuing family building options predominantly throughout Latin America, including Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. He has since supported many Intended Parents as they compare pathways, select providers and navigate the many decisions involved in creating their families.
Andy now brings this lived and professional experience to Fertility & Family, helping Intended Parents understand their options and connect with trusted clinics and agencies around the world.
Outside the fertility industry, Andy is an actor, writer and storytelling facilitator. He is also co founder Moonshiner Distillery in Marrickville.
